Lil Wayne Celebrates Launch Of Beats By Dre Custom Headphones

On Friday night, Wayne celebrated with the likes of Beats By Dr Dre , Wiz Khalifa, French Montana and many more to launch his custom line at Playhouse night club in Hollywood. Reps from Beats confirmed to RapFix that Wayne's red pro headphones will be on sale for a limited time in mid October directly through the company, while another set of Wayne-branded headphones in a red and black color scheme will debut at the same time, but will be available through other retailers such as Amazon and Beats By Dre best buy .
As if the Lil Wayne-designed label Trukfit weren't enough of a music-meets-fashion collision in itself, Weezy and his streetwear brand have teamed up with Beats by Dr. Dre for a pair of collaboration custom beats by dre headphones. That's right, folks. Welcome into the world a piece of music hardware already backed by one rapper/producer and made extra stylish with the help of another emcee's FASHION label. Even better? We spotted them this weekend in the hands of THE beats by dre justin bieber edition on his Instagram feed. Layers upon layers of MTV Style kryptonite right thurr.
Hip-hop icon Beats By Dre Sale rocked Coachella with an all-star cast of collaborators past and present (and even deceased) this year with more skill than half the guys half his age who are promoting new albums, all while banking his way to becoming the highest paid rapper of the year.
How'd he do it? Beats by Dre, of course, which now accounts for more than half of the high-end Beats Studio With Diamond headphone market. According to the brand-new list of hip-hop's highest-paid earners featured in Forbes magazine's September 24 issue, Beats by Dre was responsible for $100 million of Dre's pretax $110 million haul over the past year. The N.W.A. rapper/producer, who launched the careers of Snoop Dogg and Eminem, got into the speaker game at the urging of Interscope's Jimmy Iovine, who was one of the partners who benefited when handset maker HTC spent $300 million purchasing a 51 percent stake in Beats By Dre.
Dre managed to pass his peers like Diddy, Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil Wayne, who rounded out the top five.
